I would like to add that when you resize an image in Adobe Photoshop, you want to convert the layer to a Smart Object.

Explanation of why per Adobe Photoshop's help file;
"With Smart Objects, you can perform nondestructive transforms. You can scale, rotate, skew, distort, perspective transform, or warp a layer without losing original image data or quality because the transforms don’t affect the original data."

To convert the layer, go to the Layers pallet and select the layer you want to resize. Right click it and select "Convert to Smart Object".

To resize, go to Image in menu, select Image size and enter the size you want.

To resize just the image but not change the size of the canvas, go to Edit in menu then select Transform and in menu that pops open, select resize or what ever function (rotate, warp, etc) you wish to perform.

After your done, rasterize the layer to return it to normal (right click layer and select Rasterize).
★ Important! The layer must be visible when you rasterize it or it will end up blank.

This is a very important step for those that are making ranks or any project where the image is really small.
