Here is a little video (about Instagram's new logo) perfectly demonstrating what can be behind even a simple design. A long, long brainstorming and creation process.

Nice video! Old one's better though, now it looks like they've spent more time making this animation than their logo. Others doesn't like it, an art should be good in the eyes of everyone, right?

Graphics are turning into simpler and simpler so I can see why Instagram made this change. I'm not particularly fan of the new design, but people are so quick to judge and criticize. I think it was a clever move from their side to come up with this video, it represents very well the countless hours a designer might spend with a design, and then some random people jump in and simply say it's not good.

What I wanna say, you might be right, the final logo really can be done in a minute, like the gif shows you attached, however, the idea behind could've taken hours.  



I don't believe you can create something that is liked by everyone, art is a pretty subjective field. There will always be someone who doesn't like your creation, but that's just the way it is.

Anyway, I hope this will bring some changes to graphic designs. Getting bored of flat design, bringing some gradients to things would make everything cooler.
