in photoshop 2 i dont have the effects ...at all.. maybe there are somewhere else

Or you can add a new layer a diagonal texture with edited blend mode and opacity.


As for the 7th step, in Paint Shop Pro you have to convert the layer to be able to use the Pick Tool's modes (scale, pespective, shear etc.) I don't know if it is neccessary for you in PS.

I wouldn't mind if you made some changes to make the design more "yours", but I cannot stop you, so you can use them.

As far as I know you can resize/shear the layer without transforming it. Just select your layer and press ctrl+T, take a corner while holding ctrl+shift (or 'edit > transform > skew').
